Synthetic test circuit with two‐level voltage source for HVDC circuit breakers

In order to ensure the reliable interruption of high voltage direct current circuit breaker (HVDC CB), breaking test HVDC CB plays an important role in its performance verification. this paper, process is analyzed, and equivalent requirements for are summarized. current, transient (TIV) duration short, which leads insufficient stress. A new synthetic testing CBs proposed, can solve problem TIV caused by capacity. Subsequently, working principle introduced detail design method parameters given. The short-circuit simulation carried out. results fit most well with actual cases, verifies universality method. Finally, a platform built verify circuit. rose 2.5 kV compared predetermined system 1.67 during test, means that key stress provided meet expected requirements.
